KGE is a quiet gated community in the Ka'u area of the Big Island of Hawaii, with 154 three-acre lots. All lots have access to electricity, high-speed internet, main paved road and gated access to the Road to the Sea. Water supply is by catchment and trash must be taken to the local free transfer stations.
KGE is located in a "lava zone 2" area on the slopes of Mauna Loa.
Kona Garden Estates roads are private roads maintained by Kona Garden Estates Service Corporation. It is illegal to use KGE roads to access any property/lot outside of KGE. KGESC is not an HOA.
